Shaping Liberal Arts College Library Collections: New Models and Active Strategies

Over 80 representatives of college libraries and invited guests from other sectors of the library community met at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum (Hyde Park, NY) and Vassar College (Poughkeepsie, NY) on October 15-16, 2008, to follow up on the last decade of work on collaborative collection development by small consortia of college libraries and by college libraries in the context of statewide and regional consortia. In the company of guests from the research library, publishing, vendor, and network communities, the participants sought to understand the work that has been done and to set directions for  future work on collections. This website, sponsored by the Oberlin Group of college library directors, documents the workshop and invites comment from all members of the library community.
