Public Access to Peer-Reviewed Scholarly Publications Based on Federally Funded Research

In response to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Request for Information on public access to peer-reviewed scholarly publications resulting from federally-funded research, the Oberlin Group submitted comments on behalf of the 80 members.  With the threat of the Research Works Act (HR3699) possibly turning back the progress made by the NIH mandate, this is a critical time for libraries to respond and advocate for more access, not less.

The Oberlin Group: A Consortium of Liberal Arts College Libraries endorses the Berlin Declaration:   Atlanta, GA – At its 2011 annual meeting at the Atlanta University Center and Agnes Scott College on October 6, 7, and 8, the Oberlin Group agreed to become a signatory of the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities.

Three Oberlin Group schools participate in Maine Shared Collections Strategy

Three Oberlin Group schools, Bates College, Bowdoin College and Colby College, are part of the Maine Shared Collections Strategy (MSCS), a group working to develop a strategy for the long-term management and preservation of legacy print collections in the state of Maine.
